The Jed Report: Poor old John Bush McCain: Gonna' get clobbered

  • Zach · 1 year ago
Just because McCain looks like a blathering idiot doesnt mean he cannot win. I think it's important to remember that the point of view presented on this page and on the internet in general is very slanted towards Obama. The majority of the country, especially those who will be voting for McCain, will never see this video or the many others like it that are floating around online. Furthermore, as some others have said, even if they did see this video this is not going to stop them from voting Republican. Those of you who think the democrats have this election in the bag are badly mistaken. It's going to be a tough race, and both sides are going to make costly mistakes. The best thing we can do is to get our friends to vote, especially in the swing states, because a lot of people think about voting but never really get around to it. If there was ever a candidate to inspire new people to the polls, its Obama and I hope he cashes in on it.

Watch the video. It will actuially give you a good idea of what he was actuially saying. The excerpt above is a small part of what he said.

Any bets on when dear old John will lose his temper? If he has to do a face to face w/Obama and is corrected the explosion will make for your best youtube ever.
  • Tess · 1 year ago
I can't wait to see McCain throw a temper tantrum at a debate with Obama. I am sure Obama will have to correct McCain on some issues, especially since McCain is lacking on quite a few issues. McCain's true colors will come out and it won't be pretty "My Friends", lol.

I am one of the 25-30% of the Conservative side of the Republican party that WILL NOT vote for or support McCain. McCain is the laughing stock of the GOP, I am so ashamed and repulsed by McCain, I can't even stand to look at him. Maybe, just maybe the neocon Republican party will see the light someday after we have a Dem in office for the next 4 years.
  • Aging_Hippy · 1 year ago
Maybe we should start a pool over what nasty name he'll eventually let fly for Obama or whether he'll recycle that "so do you wanna crucify me" diversionary tactic when he does.

Funniest d@mn video by TPM of the cable news coverage of the "McCain vs the Teleprompter" disaster of a speech last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMDJP4VxY4

Well, at least everyone thought it was a disaster except poor 'ol Harold Ford, Jr. He has a starring role.

    LMAO!!! this dude is classic
  • SQUARE006 · 1 year ago
He really has no chance against Obama. Clinton is far tougher than McCain could ever hope to be. There is no contest here. But, it's still fun to watch. :)

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Grumpy old hunchback will be looking older than his mum by the time Obama is done with him.

Clearly he didn't even know the answer to the question.
  • antoinepgrew · 1 year ago
You're right. Poor John. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, as most know here, are the elite branch of the Iranian Army, like our Marines or Green Berets. You declare another soverign country's military to be a terrorist organization? [I guess he never studied Persian history. McCain probably thinks the Iranians are Arabs.]

I am dying to hear John McCain claim in an upcoming debate with Obama that the Iranians supplied weapons to Iraq. For those of you who haven't seen this 180 from the Pentagon recently on the phony weapons from Iran charge, here's your link. This is one to bookmark.

But I am not letting Obama off the hook from his speech to AIPAC this AM. Somebody better get to Obama with the facts about Iran, or else he's playing possum with AIPAC to keep their neocon crazies off his back. (I actually suspect the latter; he can't be that stupid.) Obama talked about Iran trying to get nuclear weapons: "I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon."

Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons. The Dec 2007 NIE said so. The IAEA said so two weeks ago, AGAIN, although US newspapers literally rewrote Vienna's words by talking about "unidentified senior intelligence officials close to the IAEA" say the Iranians are secretly making weapon-grade uranium. Finally, Iran says so.

Gareth Porter wrote a great article in the American Prospect in May 2006 that details Iran's efforts to talk to us after 911, before the Iraq war, and then in 2003 about its nuclear capacity and what it was using it for. These criminals running our govt lied about these efforts to the American public. Our anemic press paid it no attention, Co-president Cheney is still sabre-rattling to get a war going before Alfred E Neuman leaves. This is a great article and amplifies Sy Hersh's reporting on the matter.

antoine -- the dec 07 nie didn't just say that iran doesn't have nuclear
weapons. it said they don't even have a real program working on them. the
whole thing is a joke. lou dobbs is a bigger threat to america than iran.

I bet Obama was off counting our 57 states while this was going on. Or perhaps he was with Michelle in "church?"

How did you know! The cat's name is PoorBilly. Kind of like Omaba's new nickname come early November, PoorObama, after he loses.
  • MCSameSucks · 1 year ago
Of course he flubbed it. But don't assume this kind of thing will cost McCain the elction. McCain with all of his gaffes looks like a rocket scientist compared to Bush, who by the way got elected twice. Most of the people who will vote for McCain are not paying attention to the facts. If they were paying attention to the facts they would not vote for McCain. This kind of thing validates our doubts abotu him but a lot of people are just to willfully ignorant to care and will vote for him anyways.

This guy is an IDIOT. He can’t even understand a simple question and can’t even elaborate a coherent answer…. Sounds familiar…. G.W. Bush….?
They probably attended the same school of ignorance and stupidity. Go ahead vote for this moron.

Barack Obama DID NOT vote against the Kyl-Lieberman amendment declaring the Iranian Republican Guard a Terrorist Organization.

    http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call...

I wish he had voted against it, but the record says otherwise.
  • nik · 1 year ago
It turns out that Obama didn't vote against the Roll call 349 (Nonbinding resolution to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a foreign terrorist organization). He wasn't present. Neither was McCain...
  • mujahideenryder · 1 year ago
Wow, John McCain must have a hard time hearing. It might be due to his age. I want a President who can hear and is young and vibrant! Sorry McCain, that's not you.
  • jas · 1 year ago
I'm pretty confused here. The question was about disinvestment, which is liquidating your stock to, "to pressure a government, industry, or company towards a change in policy, or in the case of governments, even regime change." (wikipedia). McCain responds with, "I never supported investment..." which is saying he didn't support the investment in the first place. How is this fumbling the question? Both ideas basically are to keep money from, or take money away from a regime...

Then you knock him on not knowing the details of a specific bill....do you not know how many bills go in and out of the capitol each day? I mean, i forget about picking up my laundry every week, there's no way in hell i'm going to remember the exact detail of one of thousands of bills that pass by me each day. I think this isn't that big of a deal. I can guarantee that Obama doesn't know every bill McCain has sponsored or advocated. Everyone is quick to jump at McCain right now....give it some time, we'll have better ammo to use. look at what hillary gave us, the race card, tears, bobby kennedy....McCain and her are best friends...he'll slip here soon just like her!
  • ismokepot · 1 year ago
    What a dumbass.

"Disinvestment, sometimes referred to as divestment, refers to the use of a concerted economic boycott, with specific emphasis on liquidating stock, to pressure a government, industry, or company towards a change in policy, or in the case of govennments, even regime change. " Source: Wikipedia
  • jmj996 · 1 year ago
Sr. ISMOKEPOT with the Wikipedia reference - You're so smart. I bet you knew the meaning of that before you looked it up in Wikipedia, just like you're implying McCain was supposed to, right?
  • Juha · 1 year ago
He has connections to investments in Iran. Somebody should dig this up.
  • jmj996 · 1 year ago
You poor infatuated souls... Too in love with Obama to see why he won't win. You are truly the "Terry McAuliffs" of the Clinton campaign - too swept up and hysterical to see what will really happen. Polls, polls, polls. If you really believed them, then you probably also believed that John McCain NEVER even had a CHANCE to win the Republican nomination. And yet he secured it WAY before Obama secured the democratic nomination. Obama ran against an inferior campaign. Now he will face his first real test. His charisma and rhetoric will come off great, but his record and his past will ruin him.
  • James Hudnall · 1 year ago
Bush got elected twice. You're naive if you think McCain can't win because of stuff like this.
  • John Thomas · 1 year ago
LOL, Surely no one with an ounce of common sense is considering McBush. No body wants another four years of Dictator Bush.

I am deeply concerned that this guy could end up as president, and absolutely consider Mr. Obama to be the better candidate. I don't have much faith in the television brainwashed populace
I must admit though, if I was a fanatic McCainiac about now, I'd look at this, and the lime green speech a few days ago, and many other public pronouncements and daily gaffes, and I would be thinking " oh shit, we are so toast"
I do like Mr. McCain's style of making a weak, borderline, dogmatic, just plain ignorant, or wrong statement, and then forcing that smug fake grin and blinking repeatedly. Love it.
  • JCKorn · 1 year ago
Obama, at the time, did not want to send the Iranian government a message that would upset them about the Iranian guard and wanted to meet Ahmadinejad and talk about US / Iranian differences. That sounds ideal.

Now, in front of APIPAC, he stops just short of calling for the attack of Iran. He either knows some secret intelligence and has done a 180. That sounds hawkish.

    Hawkish idealist? Wow.
