Lieberman quote from the show: Al-Qaeda in Iran

I would love to see a video where clips of McCain being introduced as the 'next' POTUS one after another after another... Being a candidate means just that.. "presumptuous"

ahuramazda -- that would be HILARIOUS.

too bad i'm not at home otherwise i'd get to work on it! (i'm capable of doing some, but not much, video on the road)

Yeah - I watched MTP this morning. I enjoyed that Brokaw led with several clips of McCain saying months ago that he was going to lead a respectful campaign.

Kerry is an awesome surrogate, saying McCain's judgment was "wrong on Iraq", "wrong on Afghanistan", "wrong on Pakistan", "wrong when Barack Obama was right". When Lieberman was asked a direct question, he'd never answer it directly...he always had to answer with other reasons that he's a weasel and supports McCain.

I also caught the "Al Qaeda in Iran" quote by Lieberman.

Unfortunately, Chuck Todd, later in the show, reimforced that "attacking Obama on elitism" is a successfull line of attack for the McCain campaign, in that it works, though never mentioned anything about it not being true. For G-d's sake, does the media not know that "Hollywood McCain" owns 10 residences, including 3 in California? http://www.jedreport.com/2008/06/the-mccain-res...

How much energy do you think is required to run 10 residences and Cindy's private jet? McCain, a friend of the environment?

John Kerry really let Liebermann have it. In fact Liebermann seemed speechless a couple of times. Good for JFK. I guess, he learned the hard way, not to let these attacks go.

LIEberman lie: Obama has ruled out nuclear. In the Obama town hall I attended, he said we need a comprehensive energy strategy (which his recent statement reiterates), including nuclear IF the waste can be stored safely (environmentally and away from terrorists) AND the costs are kept under control (ie not a boondoggle).

Also, I'm glad Brokaw put up the entire Obama statement re drilling. Because Obama didn't say "offshore drilling" he said drilling. And only if it can meet environmental safety standards. I see no conflict here at all with Obama's previous statements.

I'm glad that Kerry pointed out that the industry already has leases, which they are not acting on.

LIEberman comes across as a whiner and glosses over the real issues. I really wanted to smack him at times.

Of course the Repubs do. Liars they be.

That last bit made no sense. Whiner and glosses over the real issues goes with Repubs and liars. I guess. I think my train of thought got derailed in there somewhere. :-)

Political malpractice by the Obama campaign! WHY, WHY, WHY were the BHO surrogates not more prepared this Sunday morning with the following information --

McCain first mocked Obama on US currency in JUNE. Link to McCain attack ad released 6/27/08:

I thought Lieberman was much better than Kerry. I am disappointed in the Obama campaign. Are they checking this site each hour? They sure need to be doing so.

I watched the whole program today. Lieberman had a difficult time getting out more than two sentences in a row without uttering a distortion or a lie or an expresion of stupidity. Everything Kerry said was absolutely dead on and factual, and - this time - Kerry did not back off and gave Lieberman the full-court press throughout the discussion. Lieberman literally had his head handed to him. And come his next Senatorial election cycle, the outraged people of Connecticut will do the same to him.

I love it. The only part where I felt he was somewhat weak was when talking about "surge". Unfortunately, Kerry does not have a very good repo with troops (some due to swift boat, rest due to his "study or else you will be sent to Iraq" comment). To add to that, he did not enforce the 'great work' of troops. I know he wanted to get to it, but Lieberman seized on the moment and did not really let Kerry come back on it. Kerry should have started by praising troops. Kerry needs to realize that yes he is a soldier, but unfortunately people are a little sensitive when it comes to Kerry and troops.
Other than that, I think he did brilliant, specially in the earlier part of the interview, where he went on continuously for good 7-8 minutes. Amazing. I have never seen anyone give Lieberman that rigorous a response before.
I love Obama's surrogates: 1) Claire McCaskill (she is amazing), 2) John Kerry, 3) Joe Biden.
I haven't heard much from Sabelius, but people say she is pretty strong too. I am a little skeptical towards Gen Clark. Not becoz of Gen himself, but becoz of treatment he got from Obama campaign. It was pretty sad to "reject" a general's who is your supporter, statement. That too he did within matter of hours, if not minutes. If Sen McCain as a soldier deserves, does General Clarke not deserve equal respect too? Let two army men sort it out. Why do you have to just insult one. If you really want to distance yourself from him, do it subtly. A "rejection" was something I extremely disliked!
Who else is Senator Obama's surrogate? I cant recall.

As for McCain, I think Mitt Romney can be really affective. I forgot that SC senator's name who was "almost" crying when he said "its sad that a person like Sen Obama with great talent is coming to this blah blah". I was like, are you about to cry. Hush.
That ex HP CEO is also waste of time. Apparently HP was no success when she was CEO there. I wonder if McCain even thinks before choosing his people?

Why doesn't someone just tell Lieberman that he is backing McCain because he is mad at the DNC for not backing him for reelection, as for McCain being better qualified for being President we thought Bush was too and look how that turned out. We have had almost 8 years of one disaster after another and no one in this administration knows what to do because he just put in political cronies to reward them that is a bunch of bs on how to run a country, as for the surge if we would of put the number of troops on the ground that was needed when Bush started this war the whole surge thing would be moot. Has it worked I don't know you only get half truths from this administration if not just plain lies. McCain and Bush are cut from the same cloth they both have a fun loving I'm the greatest, skirt chasing, beer drinking background. Being a prisoner of war does not give you the background to be a president. It gets my sympathy and glad you made it back alive, you have to remember that over 50,000 other didn't in another stupid war. We are in Iraq for the oil that is the only reason these people want to stay there, that's the only reason they went into Iraq in the first place we can never forget that. We should never again arm another country it just back fires on us. Stay out of their problems and tune into our own. We need now a new New Deal for our own country instead of spending billions and billions on Iraq. We should of stayed focused on Afghanistan and took out Bin laden and that would of been that just who are we to be nation building when we aren't taking care of business at home.

I can't watch it. Lieberman looks like a lying lizard and now he sounds like one. He just pisses me off. All these wanna-bees crying over sour grapes.... i.e., Clinton (Mr) too.

These guys need to grapple w/the idea that their day is over.....and Lieberman's? Never began. Now he's hangin on to McCain's sphincter muscles like he's afraid fresh air might kill him.

He brings new meaning to shyt-faced
