such a shame, what great debates we would have had with paul and barrack maintaining civility and staying on issues and facts. Is this all a plan? because the media quashed Dr. Paul, and it looks like McCain is throwing wrenches at his own machine. I think he realizes he does not really want to be president at this time in his life and actually wants to lose, or if by plan.

It makes sense for Phil Gram to approach Dr. Paul. Gram was the senior statesman from the texas delegation for years while he was senator. He probably has the best working relationship with Paul out of all the McCain surrogates. The fact Paul not only turned him down but went on television to disclose the incident demonstrates how alienated Dr. Paul is with the party nominee.

Republican congressman endorses Obama

Rep. Wayne Gilchrest, a maverick Republican from Maryland, endorsed Illinois Democratic Sen. Barack Obama for president in an interview Wednesday with WYPR, Baltimore's National Public Radio station.

Gilchrest, who lost a primary campaign and is retiring from Congress, has already endorsed the Democrat running for his seat, Frank Kratovil. Justifying his endorsement of Obama, Gilchrest said that "we can't use four more years of the same kind of policy that's somewhat haphazard, which leads to recklessness."

Obama and his running mate, Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.), "have the breadth of experience. I think they're prudent. They're knowledgable."
